Hi all,

With RAF Valley's families day tomorrow, I thought I would head up the A5 to see if much was about. A very quiet start with a weak NATO call. Nothing appeared, so assumed whatever it was had gone Conwy Valley. 10 minutes later the sound of rotor blades grew steadily louder, then from over the top of Pen Yr Olwen corner came G-MCGJ, the new Sikorsky S-92A to be based at Caernarfon, and operated by Bristow for the new Search and Rescue coverage. He dropped in to Ogwen Mountain Training Centre, where the search teams were gathered for tours of the helicopter and winch training.

This was the only movement of the day, as I think they put a temp restriction area on the A5 due to winch ops, but this is only my theory.

Thanks Mike - it's huge compared to the Seaking, or atleast looks it. Guess that's 40 years of evolution for you.

I believe you may be right Steve. Martin Briscoe's images of GF at low level in Lochaber in March and mine of GD in Skye last October were captures from video.
