With 48hrs in Los Angeles decided to pop up to Pt.Mugu which is an hours drive, traffic dependent!, north of the City. Been here once before and it can be a bit quiet, spent 1045-1500 on the approach to the long runway. On arrival the CAG E-2C launched to bash the visual circuit on the short runway which has a simulated carrier deck painted on the runway, sadly the approach to that runway is out of bounds. Thankfully it returned to the main runway eventually. At around 1330 it all started to happen with the return of the 'Billboard' NP-3D followed by not one but 2 ski-equipped LC-130's from the NY ANG. The 2 ATAC Kfir's then launched for an 1:30 sortie which were followed by the MAFFS (Forest Fire) C-130 from the based CA ANG, hot on it's heels was the P-8 Poseidon. Finally left after the 2 Kfir's landed. All in all a cracking afternoon.
